The Relief Society (women's group at church) was looking for ideas for an annual project in which the women make crafty and/or householdy things to donate to a local social service organization, which then sells them to raise money for its programs. The Relief Society president, whom I'd never talked to (she's relatively new), approached me a couple of Sundays ago and asked me to submit some ideas. I brought
this to her thinking they'd think about it and get back to me. But no, on the spot it was decided we'd make them -- and that I'd be teaching the making of them.
Yeah, I'm nowhere near that fluent in Italian. But I'm always up for an adventure, especially if it'll make for an interesting story later. So the past couple of days I've been procuring supplies (with the help of my friend Rachael), creating a pattern and making samples so I can at least show the ladies what they're supposed to do even if they can't understand a word I'm saying.
Aren't they cute little trees? Laura has asked if we can start making them every Christmas. I'm not sure I'll be so enamored with that idea a week and a half from now, but we'll see.

They are ADORABLE little trees! And I fully believe you are crafty enough that the Italian will be secondary...they'll all 'get it' no doubt. Speaking of 'getting it' how can I get my hands on a few of those? Did you make it up yourself and if so, will you post directions?
You are crafty! These are fabulous and I am totally making some this year. What a great idea and perfect for little hands!
